PeMBr

What would an experimental travelog look like? No talk of delightful cafes, locations and lists, what you slept on or what happened to you, just some kind of dreamy half remembered representations of things you found interesting at the time?

PeMBr is a series of videos recorded in the summer of 22 in Pembrokeshire, Wales during a week travelling around the coast by paddleboard, foot and cycle.

The videos explore time and repetition to make a psychedelic travelog.

Audio is taken from the original video, nothing is added, only effected and edited.

Caves Of Yam – Attack On Station 94

12/11/21

Some kind words from Neil March’s Trust The Doc blog:

“The link for the wonderfully named Caves Of Yam will actually take you to the Soundcloud page for their label Verbcops. So I can tell you literally nothing about who Caves Of Yam is/are other than that the cover pic somewhat resembles an iconic King Crimson album from the beginnings of Prog!

Anyway, it is Caves Of Yam’s track Attack on Station 94 that I am interested in. Deliciously unstable, wobbly and prone to sudden glissando-style descending dives down in pitch, it is a fascinating piece, cleverly constructed around these bendy synths and ambient effects with more buzz than a hive full of hyperactive honey bees. I am always looking for tracks that genuinely stand out and this one leapt out at me on first listen. An electronic ambient exploration into the beautifully unsettling qualities of sound.”

Roke – Roke

Roke album 12.1.21

Someone whos not us said: “There’s a human voice and some guitars tantalisingly buried under all that reverb and while it’s hard to make out the details, the cumulative emotional effect is very direct. Half alive, but moving with an implacably forlorn power – tarry here a while, dear reader, for this is very good indeed.” (Colin Bond for God Is In The TV)
