The very first material under the Yam name was the result of working with prepared piano, environmental field recordings and NI Reaktor, ensembles used to this day, adding modules and sounds as projects progress.
Citizens and Officers walks the same paths, except with autoharp, guitars and other small acoustic instruments leading the charge. The same use of non musical found sounds fed into Reaktor ensembles continue to colour the Yam sound and, as always, a prepared piano can be found hiding in plain sight.
The synths have been left unplugged, and the strings brought to ring out into the digital realm, beaten and stretched into new and not so new shapes.
